Published!!!

I am proud to let all of you know, the NUT has been published in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  I was so honoured for them to have picked me.  I am hoping to be able to put some more submissions in for the Spring 2014 Magazine.

I haven't been on here for a while because I started to do Vinyl to help pay for some of my scrapbooking supplies.  Long story short, I have been very busy.  I am taking a 3 day break to apply my talents back to my scrapbook and card making projects.  I am going to be receiving a kid from one of my favorite companies, Tombow USA, and I am hoping to share some of the creations I make with those products.  Stay Tuned..

This is the Page I had published in the Fall Issue (2013) of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  :)

Fairy Sweet - My little Abigale

Ok so I am adicted to Penny Black Stamps.  I fell in love when I met Jenn from Cardawhile.  One of the lines I just love are the Fairies.  This next card I made with the Fairy Sweet Transparent stamp set.  I just love these girls.  They remind me of my baby girl Abigale so I have renamed them my little Abi's.

I coloured these stamp sets using my Tombow DualBrush Markers.  Have I mentioned how much I love these.  I also used Cold Press watercolour paper.  I am currently looking for a paper that I can use the blending marker with but these ones were done with a water brush.  Jenn taught me to only dip my brush in water and not to put any water in my brush.  This gives a more controlled effect and I love it.

The Paper I used for this card is Echo Park Springtime.  I cut the flowers out and accented them with Gelly Roll  Starburst clear pen.

More Penny Black Card Fun!!!

Here are a few more cards I made using Penny Black's Hello Friend clear stamp set.  I ordered in about 6 more stamp sets and I thin I might buy two more.  Wow I am falling in love with this company.

Enjoy..

“For Family” Challenge

I am really new to Penny Black stamps.  My friend Jenn from Cardawhile introduced me to them.  She also taught me some colouring techniques that I am working on perfecting.  The stamp set I used for the following Father's Day card is the Hand in Hand.  I saw it at Jenn's store and I grabbed it.  Of course she laughed at me since I had just told her that I could not buy anything else.

The paper I used for this card is Close to My Hearts Dream Pop line that is available throughout the Month of May for the National Scrapbooking Month.  It is so beautiful.  If you want it email me and I'll send you the info.

Make sure you check out the Penny Black blog for information on the Family Challenge.

I'm Back!!

Well I haven't been on here in a while.  I was concentrating more on my Facebook page but it seems that it is getting more and more complicated to see what I post there.  So I decided to start posting here once more.

I have a lot of projects but recently I am working on colouring.  I was fortunate to be able to learn how to do watercolouring with both pencils and Tombow dual ended markers.  I had Marvy LePlume markers at one point but I could never get the look I was going for.  Now that I have the Tombow markers it is exactly what I have been wanting to do.

I also have to say that I have now been exposed to PENNY BLACK stamps!!

This stamp is a Penny Black stamp called Cake Dance.  I am just in love with the Heggies!!

In the first picture, I used the Tombow Markers directly onto the stamped image.  I used water colour paper and blended with the markers themselves.  You tend to get a lot richer look from the colour.

In this second picture, I coloured onto an acrylic block and pulled the colour off with a slightly wet paint brush.  I love the light look of this colouring technique.  Now these are just my first real attempts so I am aware they are not perfect.

4. Laurie Wood (www.laurieslovingmemories.blogspot.com)

5. Diana Saunders (www.farmerdistamps.blogspot.com)

Here is my Project.  I am featuring SURF'S UP!!!   I love paper lines that feature beach and summer and this line is no exception.  I just love how all the colours go together.

Here is my first layout from a Trip to Punta Cana..

All of the embellishments were included in the Workshop on the Go with the Exception of the grame used for Some Like it Hot.  It is part of the new "Frame Flair" stamp set.  I also purchased the My Stickease set that accompanies this set.  What a great accent!!

Here is a close up of the Frame Flair stamp set.  I coloured in the edge using the Alcohol based markers from Close to My Heart. I added a little bling to the centre of the "O".

My second layout is from a Trip to Virginia Beach.  Same paper different feel.  I wasn't happy using plain card stock for the background so I made a spritz spray using Modge Podge, white paint and water.

Well thank you for looking at my blog.  I hope you enjoyed this.  Your next stop is Tracy Holmes
